Rangitīkei Heritage Weekend

Celebrate our proud Rangitīkei history with us!

Join our local Rangitīkei Museums as they celebrate Heritage Weekends across the district during the month of May. We have amazingly interesting local museums in Marton, Bulls, Hunterville, Mangaweka and Taihape. Entry is by Koha or gold coin donation, which is more than worth the value as these museums are volunteer operated by passionate locals who are more than keen to fill you in on all the things that make our district who we are today. It is truly fascinating to see the various heritage equipment, collections and tributes that are in our museums. All 5 museums will be open across the month, with a different museum open each weekend. Keep an eye on out for the dates each Museum will be showcased in 2027.


Every year during Heritage Month, you can visit the museums and pick up a passport to go in the draw to win a Rangitīkei Themed Prize Pack!
